Junior Sailing
The club provides instruction in line with the Yachting NZ program. Trained coaches take groups based around the levels as defined in the YNZ curriculum. For more details follow this link.

We teach kids in the following classes - Optis, Starlings, P Class, Splash and Jolly Boat.

Ages range from 9 years to 16 years with older sailors moving into adult classes.

Adult Sailing (Seniors)

At the senior level we don't run a specific program but often do one on one instruction for new members.

The Sailing Club has a number of optimist sailing dinghies for first year juniors who don’t have their own boats. These optimists are available to hire for the first season of sailing. The coaches give freely of their time to train enthusiastic youngsters how to sail.
The cost of the Training is $60 for the season, but the child or family must first belong to the Boating Club and Sailing Club.

There are a number of options:
A Full family membership to the boating club costs $250p.a.(plus an initial one off entry fee of $450) plus an annual breakwater levy of $50 plus affiliation to the Sailing Club for the family is $75.00.

Alternatively a Family can take up a Community Membership for just $70p.a plus the Sailing Club affiliation of $75.00 - total of $145. This entitles the family to use the facilities, but not the carpark or boat ramps. There are limited spaces available for Junior tuition enrolment.
Junior registration Day is on Sunday 20th September 2009 10am at the Sailing Club boat sheds. Bring your child down - have a go - enrol for the season. Junior sailing days will begin on Sunday 4th October and on every Sunday from this date through to Xmas and re-starting again mid January through to end of April.

The sailing club is part of the Boating Club.
